Abstract

This conceptual note presents a geometric argument explaining why bound systems across nature tend to relax toward spherical or near-spherical configurations. The argument shows that spherical symmetry arises naturally as a minimum-stress configuration of a scalar geometric scaling field, rather than as an assumed boundary condition or a consequence of specific force laws. The result is independent of cosmology, dark matter assumptions, or detailed dynamical modeling, and is intended as a conceptual clarification supporting related empirical work. This note is formulated within the Wilhoite Geometric Scaling Framework as defined in Wilhoite (2025), Zenodo, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17973193.
