Abstract

Weanalyze the logical structure of conformally invariant field theories, motivated byPenrose’s observation that the usual spectral splitting of field amplitudes into positive and negative frequency parts is not preserved by conformal transformations.Recasting the frequency distinction in terms of holomorphic extension on twistorspace yields a conformally invariant criterion, but its global implementation forcesthe appearance of an intrinsic scalar parameter that measures the local “structuralcompleteness” of the conformal–complex manifold. We introduce this quantity, theconformal density parameter ρ, give a rigorous cohomological definition based onregularized Dolbeault traces, and prove its invariance under the conformal group.Interpreting ρ as an operatorial expectation value in an ambitwistor Fock representation, we derive its leading coupling to the conformal Laplacian and presenta variational formulation whose Euler–Lagrange equation reproduces the integrability constraint for the deformed Penrose correspondence. The construction isindependent of any choice of metric representative and suggests that conformallyinvariant kinematics naturally carry an internal degree of freedom with potentialdynamical consequences
