THE IMPORTANCE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN PHARMACEUTICALS
Abstract
Medicinal plants have long been an essential source of biologically active substances used in pharmaceutical production. This article explores the pharmacological value of medicinal plants, their chemical composition, and their applications in modern medicine and cosmetics. The paper highlights the potential of alkaloids, glycosides, essential oils, vitamins, and antioxidants derived from plants. It also discusses the sustainable use of natural resources for developing safer and more effective drugs. The study concludes that plant-based medicines play an irreplaceable role in maintaining human health and represent a valuable direction for future pharmaceutical research.
