ON THE PHYSICAL REALIZATION OF FRAMES OF REFERENCE IN OBSERVERS
Abstract
This paper examines the physical origin of frames of reference by treating them as actively maintained properties of observers rather than abstract coordinate choices. By defining a frame as an internally enforced temporal and spatial basis—requiring clocks, rulers, structural stability, and energy expenditure—the analysis shows that frames arise from physical mechanisms within finite systems. Inertia constrains how such frames behave, but does not generate them. The result clarifies the asymmetry between invariant physical law and the thermodynamically bounded process of observation.
