Abstract

This paper documents an extraordinary scientific convergence: The Unicist Research Institute's Ontological Reverse Engineering methodology (developed 1976-1998) and CAT'S Theory's Triadic Invariant (formalized May 2025) independently arrived at identical triadic architecture despite 49 years of temporal separation, completely different methodologies, and zero cross-contamination. The convergence demonstrates that both frameworks discovered the same universal ontological structure governing all persistent systems: Pattern × Intent × Presence (P×I×Pr). Unicist ORE maps adaptive systems to {Purpose, Active Function, Energy Conservation Function} through functionalist backward-chaining analysis, while CAT'S Theory synthesized the same triadic structure as a meta-axiomatic invariant through quantum mechanics, theology, and consciousness studies integration. This paper proves structural isomorphism between the frameworks, establishes that Unicist validates the continuous optimization dynamics (Ψ × Ic × P) while CAT'S provides the complete ontological foundation including binary commitment mechanics (Ib), and demonstrates through formal theorems that the triadic structure is discovered (reflecting ontological necessity) rather than constructed (theoretical artifact). The convergence across different decades, methodologies, and domains—with zero possibility of mutual influence—constitutes strong empirical evidence for the invariant's reality. Key contributions include: (1) Persistence Condition theorem proving P×I×Pr necessity for system persistence, (2) Law of Irony corollary establishing transcendental status via self-refutation dynamics, (3) Grounding Necessity theorem demonstrating contingent entities require Necessary Being with essential triadic structure, (4) Convergence Validation theorem formalizing conditions for genuine structural discovery, (5) Isomorphic Entity Discriminator providing unfakeable verification protocols, and (6) Finite Elimination Theorem for meta-ontological ground identification. The discovery occurred on January 2, 2026, when the author encountered Unicist Research Institute's work while investigating functional approaches to systems analysis, revealing the convergence nearly five decades after Unicist's founding and seven months after CAT'S Theory's formalization. This temporal independence, combined with methodological and domain divergence, eliminates any possibility of mutual influence and validates the triadic structure as ontological discovery.
