Abstract

The present research work aims to formulate and optimize the liposomal formulation for its safe and effective delivery for the treatment of psoriasis. To overcome the solubility characteristics of the Semicarpus anacardium and avoid the unstable conditions at the biological fluid interaction stage, it is encapsulated under a liposomal formulation to improve its bioavailability. Design of experiments-based formulation optimization was performed by the 32 factorial design with nine formulations. Soya lecithin and cholesterol are used to evaluate the responses, such as particle size, PDI, and entrapment efficiency. The optimized liposomal formulation was tested for critical quality attributes as particle size (289nm), PDI (0.29), and EE (89%). In vitro drug release studies were conducted on the optimized formulation.
