Abstract

This paper introduces the concept of the Growing Paper, a new scientific document format designed to evolve over time. Unlike traditional static papers, a Growing Paper is structured as a living system: it metabolizes feedback, reproduces through forks, maintains homeostasis via persistent identifiers, and evolves through iterative updates. Built on the IRMAD framework, this model integrates PDSCA-based standardization, distributed repositories, executable intelligence, and AI orchestration to redefine scientific knowledge production in the 21st century. By treating scientific documents as dynamic, executable, and biologically inspired entities, this work proposes a foundation for a new era of living science.
