Topological Origin of Time, Horizons, and Structural Attractors in Pre-Geometric Cosmology
Abstract
This work presents a pre-geometric cosmological framework in which physical time, horizons, and stable large-scale features emerge from a single topological transition in configuration space. The fundamental structure is a configuration space of simplicial degrees of freedom ordered by a non-physical parameter. At a critical threshold, global connectivity is lost, inducing global irreversibility. Physical time and a global arrow of time emerge only after this transition, as structural properties rather than dynamical assumptions.Post-transition sections of configuration space exhibit a layered topological structure that induces a stable three-sector partition of degrees of freedom. This partition provides the structural basis for effective cosmological attractors discussed in earlier work, without attempting numerical derivations. No spacetime, metric, curvature, inflationary dynamics, additional fields, or fine-tuned initial conditions are assumed. All results rely exclusively on global connectivity properties and are independent of any specific geometric realization. This paper closes the structural layer of a broader pre-geometric cosmology program and provides necessary topological conditions for viable cosmological descriptions, without replacing effective late-time models.
