Abstract

This work presents an analytical study of localized standing-wave solutions of Maxwell’s equations within classical electrodynamics. The focus is on electromagnetic field configurations possessing finite total energy and exhibiting no net radiation, with particular attention paid to the structure of the Poynting vector and the conditions ensuring strict energy conservation. It is shown that such localized solutions can be obtained without modifying Maxwell’s equations or introducing additional physical postulates. The results demonstrate that non-radiating, spatially confined electromagnetic fields may arise naturally within the standard theoretical framework.Possible implications for the interpretation of wave–particle duality and for the description of microscopic physical systems are discussed at the level of classical field theory. The analysis is intended for researchers interested in foundational aspects of electrodynamics, energy localization, and alternative perspectives on electromagnetic field solutions.
