The Zero Entropy Framework (ZEF): A Pre-Geometric Order-Parameter Approach to Emergent Spacetime, Matter, and the Dark Sector (v1.1)
Abstract
The Zero Entropy Framework (ZEF): A Pre-Geometric Order-Parameter Approach to Emergent Spacetime, Matter, and the Dark Sector (v1.1) This record publishes ZEF v1.1, a standalone and tightened formulation of the Zero Entropy Framework (ZEF): a pre-geometric emergence program in which spacetime quantities arise as effective descriptors of bounded departures from an underlying uniform substrate (the “Zero Entropy Field”), summarized by the ZEF Deformation Index (ZDI) 0 ≤ φ < 1 with a saturation boundary associated operationally with the Planck regime. Core foundations (ZEF, stable across versions) Pre-geometric substrate: ZEF is not a field in spacetime; spacetime is an emergent bookkeeping regime used after deformation breaks uniformity. Bounded deformation index: departures from pristine ZEF are summarized by a dimensionless order parameter φ (ZDI), with 0 ≤ φ < 1. Saturation boundary: the Planck regime is treated as a breakdown boundary of spacetime parametrization (saturation), not a divergence of physical variables. Universal causal response: in the correspondence regime, deformation excitations propagate with a universal characteristic speed identified observationally with c. Defect-localized quantization: quantization is assigned to localized topological defects (“zefons”) and their composites (“qufons”); ħ governs defect reconfiguration rather than pristine ZEF. Dark-sector interpretation (effective): persistent deformation strain can appear as dark-matter-like gravitational sourcing; large-scale restoring response can appear as dark-energy-like acceleration (targets for later confrontation with data). v1.1 adds: (i) an explicit Assumptions vs Derived vs Targets framing box; (ii) a conservative correspondence bridge packaging the deformation sector as an effective stress–energy contribution; (iii) explicit defect topology via a minimal complex order parameter Ψ = φ eiθ; and (iv) a finite-energy saturation bound for effective realizations with diverging stiffening potentials as φ → 1−. Appendices provide a dimensional completion and a structured falsifiability/disfavoring-outcomes table. Changelog (v1.1 vs v1.0) Standardized definitions/postulates/notation; clarified “emergent bookkeeping” vs substrate language. Added “Assumptions vs Derived vs Targets” framing box and a v1.1 version note. Made defect topology explicit via Ψ = φ eiθ and clarified the ħ entry point. Added a covariant correspondence ansatz with explicit Tμν(φ) and action. Added a finite-energy saturation bound with quantitative near-saturation volume scaling. Added dimensional completion (Appendix A) and falsifiability table (Appendix B).
