High-Probability Ignition Candidates: FHSD Objects with Succession Potential
Abstract
Fusion Hot Sub Dwarfs (FHSD) in binary configurations occupy positions favorable for mass acquisition during primary stellar evolution. Objects with high initial mass (> 8 MJ ) and stable orbits outside red giant expansion zones represent high-probability ignition candidates—companions that may achieve fusion threshold through accretion during primary mass loss phases. This study identifies FHSD objects with minimal mass gaps to fusion threshold and evaluates their succession potential based on orbital stability and predicted remnant types.
