THE OBSERVER AS THE PHYSICAL SOURCE OF MEASUREMENT, ERROR, AND CONTROL LIMITS
Abstract
This paper establishes the observer as the single physical structure underlying measurement limits, informational constraints, error, entropy production, feedback instability, and quantum back-action. By defining the observer as a finite matter–energy system embedded within the dynamics it observes, the paper shows that uncertainty, error, control limits, and thermodynamic cost are not separate phenomena but necessary consequences of observer finitude. No new laws are proposed; the contribution is a unification that makes explicit a constraint already implicit across physics and engineering: all empirical limits arise from the physical nature of observers themselves.
