Trust as a Control Variable in the Universal Cell Model (UCM)
Abstract
Within the Universal Cell Model (UCM), trust is introduced as a foundational control variable governing stability, commitment, and adaptive persistence under uncertainty. Unlike colloquial or psychological interpretations, trust in UCM is a formally defined, system-internal quantity that regulates entropy absorption, recursive commitment, and resealing behavior across polyphasic state dynamics. This paper establishes trust as a physically interpretable, entropy-bounded regulator essential for long-lived adaptive systems, bridging control theory, thermodynamics, and recursive computation.
