Why Runaway Gravitational Collapse Is Suppressed in Nature A Conceptual Note
Abstract
This short conceptual note clarifies why runaway gravitational collapse is rarely observed in nature across astrophysical systems. Within Wilhoite Scaling Theory (WST), also known as Geometric Scaling Fields (GSF), extreme mass concentration raises geometric stress in the scaling field, making unchecked collapse energetically disfavored. This provides a unified explanation for fragmentation, accretion saturation, disk persistence, and core formation without invoking fine-tuned feedback prescriptions. The note is interpretive in scope and does not replace detailed hydrodynamic or stellar-evolution modeling. This note is formulated within the Wilhoite Geometric Scaling Framework as defined in Wilhoite (2025), Zenodo, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17973193.
