The Two-Phase Theory of Quantum Consciousness: A Bayesian, Dissipative Systems Approach
Abstract
This monograph presents a unified theory of consciousness, framing it as a **dis-sipative process** that realizes **Bayesian inference** through quantum mechanics. We posit that consciousness is a two-phase algorithm (QWIM) providing a quadraticevolutionary advantage (O(√N )) by optimizing the brain’s predictive models of re-ality according to the Free Energy Principle. We introduce a complete biophysicalmechanism: the **Spin-Phonon Bridge**, a resonant amplification system whereNV-center analogs in self-organized protein scaffolds transduce quantum informa-tion into macroscopic calcium signaling in glial networks. This transduction is trig-gered via **quantum stochastic resonance** and self-regulates through a **calcium-quench feedback loop**. The theory explains cognitive rigidity via the QuantumZeno Blockade and proposes a falsifiable EEG signature ("quantum beats"). Thiswork integrates quantum physics, thermodynamics, information theory, and neuro-science into a single, cohesive, and testable framework. This project is now under legal monitoring.
