Abstract

We propose a reinterpretation of black holes as regions of update failure in an otherwise regular, dynamically updating spacetime. Building on the Σ-regularization framework developed in V64 and the variance-first principle in V65, we show that gravitational collapse is a necessary but not sufficient condition for black hole formation. A black hole forms if and only if the local spacetime update rate ν₀ falls below a critical threshold νc, at which point update continuity fails and information flow becomes locally trapped. This framework preserves general relativistic geometry while resolving the classical singularity as an operational breakdown rather than a divergence of density. The event horizon is reinterpreted as an update horizon, and traditional mass limits emerge as saturation points of update bandwidth rather than fundamental constants. We further argue that the observed abundance of massive black holes in the early universe is naturally explained by high synchronization and information flux in primordial environments.
