Abstract

Transdermal Drug Delivery Systems (TDDS) represent an approach for systemic medication administration through the skin. Transdermal drug delivery systems are designed to deliver medications through the skin and into the bloodstream, offering a non-invasive and controlled release of therapeutic agents. TDDS provides many benefits, including improved patient compliance, reduced side effects, and sustained drug release. These systems typically consist of a drug reservoir, adhesive, and backing membrane, and can be used to deliver drugs at specific rates. TDDS has been used for various therapeutic applications, including pain management, hormone replacement, and cardiovascular diseases. Ongoing research focuses on enhancing skin permeability and developing new technologies to expand the range of deliverable drugs.Transdermal drug delivery systems deliver medications through the skin, offering controlled release, improved patient compliance, and reduced side effects.
