The Thermodynamics of Agency: Why Unbounded Intelligence Fails and How Architecture Restores Control
Abstract
This position paper argues that hallucination and instability in modern AI systems are architectural failures caused by unbounded uncertainty accumulation. Drawing inspiration from historical failures in classical physics, the paper motivates AxoDen, a systems architecture that enforces bounded uncertainty and deterministic suppression of irreversible actions. Formal mathematical guarantees are provided separately in the AxoDen-A and AxoDen-R technical papers.
