Abstract

Abstract The Civilizational Failure Atlas (CFA) is a formalized analytical system for identifying, classifying, and pre-emptively filtering civilizational-scale failure modes across institutions, platforms, and artificial intelligence systems. Grounded in the Law of Non-Mergerability of Super-Institutions (LNMSI) and operationalized through the LX Stack, CFA introduces a world-line based mapping framework that connects structural constraints, governance failures, and evolutionary dead-ends. Rather than explaining collapse retrospectively, CFA functions as a negative design instrument: it delineates failure archetypes that cannot be resolved through optimization, scale, or coordination, but only through structural non-violation. This work formalizes CFA as: a theorem–corollary system derived from LNMSI, a two-dimensional Atlas mapping world-lines × failure archetypes, and a set of applied archetypes spanning empires, digital platforms, AI systems, and techno-cognitive illusions. CFA is designed to operate as a meta-governance layer above institutional design, platform regulation, and AI alignment, enabling early-stage exclusion of non-survivable trajectories before resource commitment or ideological lock-in occurs.
