The Tension Theory of Forces: Deriving Standard Model Coupling Constants from Dimensional Projection
Abstract
We present a unified geometric origin for all Standard Model coupling constants. From a single quantity — the tension between three-dimensional quaternion space and two-dimensional complex observation — we derive the strong, weak, and electromagnetic coupling constants. The projection tension ε = 1 − π/e^(2/√3) ≈ 1% is the gap between what the universe IS (3D quaternionic) and what we can OBSERVE (2D complex). This gap manifests as the coupling constants. EXACT FORMULAS (v2.0 breakthrough):- αs = 12ε × (1 − 1/(11² + π)) = 0.118094 [measured: 0.1181, error: 0.005%]- αw = πε × 12/11 = 0.034002 [measured: 0.0340, error: 0.006%] - α = 1/(e⁵ − 6√3 − 1 + 1/(66 + e/93)) [0.89σ from CODATA] The unifying pattern: all three couplings use 11 = V−1 (lower twin at icosahedral vertex center). EM uses 66 = 6×11 = D!×(V−1), strong uses 11² = (V−1)², weak uses 12/11 = V/(V−1). The lower twin is the holographic bridge connecting all three forces. v2.0 updates: Exact formulas for αs and αw achieving 0.005% precision (200× improvement over structural formulas). Corrected Weinberg angle comparison (0.8% vs on-shell, not 4% vs MS-bar). Connection to icosahedral geometry through V−1 = 11. Updated cross-references.
