Abstract
This text presents a multi-faceted analysis of power, governance, and strategy in the contemporary era, arguing for a synthesis of ancient wisdom with modern technological and ethical challenges. It begins by establishing a foundational framework derived from indigenous knowledge systems, interpreting the epic Mahabharata not as mythology but as a sophisticated canon of statecraft and leadership. This "Dharmic Strategy" is proposed as a robust paradigm for navigating the complexities of national development, focusing on ethical decision-making, stakeholder trust, and resilience. The analysis then extends this ethical lens to the mechanics of modern governance, deconstructing the semiotics of policy nomenclature and political branding to reveal how language and symbolism are weaponised to shape public discourse and mask substantive shifts in policy. The discourse escalates to address the crisis of sovereignty, where corporate hegemony over essential services allows private entities to hold national welfare hostage, prompting a historical examination of state responses to such challenges, from antitrust breakups to nationalisation. Central to the work is the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence, which is explored through two distinct dimensions. First, it tackles the crisis of public trust and the ethical responsibilities of institutions deploying AI, advocating for a new model of "research-based management" grounded in accountability, transparency, and a willingness to bear the "cost of ethics." Second, it provides a pragmatic architectural blueprint for the secure adoption of advanced AI, such as Large Language Models, within high-stakes national security contexts, proposing a tiered "Airlock and Fortress" model that balances capability with the non-negotiable mandate of data sovereignty. Ultimately, the work calls for a strategic philosophy that is technologically informed, ethically grounded, and institutionally accountable.
