Abstract

Project: Assessing Water Quality Dynamics and Environmental Drivers in Tampa Bay, Florida Using Remote Sensing This release marks v1.0 of the Tampa Bay Water Quality project. Overview This workflow demonstrates how satellite-derived indicators can support scalable coastal water-quality monitoring, with applications to environmental management, public health surveillance, and climate-adaptation planning in estuarine systems. The pipeline links water quality indices (NDWI, NDTI, NDCI) with environmental drivers, including sea surface temperature (SST) and precipitation, to assess spatial and temporal trends in Tampa Bay, Florida, from 2019 to 2024. Features Modular, reproducible Python workflow using xarray, Dask, StackStac, and STAC APIs. Fully containerized with Docker for reproducibility. Includes notebooks for: Computing water quality indices Environmental variable aggregation Spatial mapping Correlation analysis Error handling and diagnostic tools ensure robust data processing.
