Unified Pattern Card: Self-Consistent Motion and Shear-Decorrelation
Abstract
This conceptual note formulates an explicit cross-domain dynamical pattern: in many self-consistent nonlinear systems, stability emerges when shear or advection destroys the phase coherence of unstable modes faster than they can grow, within a narrow “sweet-spot” window. The pattern is condensed into a one-page diagnostic card and illustrated across sheared-flow-stabilized Z-pinch plasmas and classical shear-driven fluid systems, including Taylor–Couette flow and the Ranque–Hilsch vortex tube. The contribution lies in conceptual unification and practical diagnostics rather than in proposing new fundamental physics. By making an implicit and widely used mechanism explicit, the framework provides a transferable heuristic for identifying, interpreting, and controlling instability in self-consistent systems across different physical domains.
