The 2025 EIOC Threat Almanac: Seasonal Emotional Attack Vectors and Temporal Threat Modeling
Abstract
This almanac documents seasonal emotional attack vectors across the 2025 calendar year, applying the Emotional Indicators of Compromise (EIOC) detection framework to temporalthreat modeling. Attackers exploit predictable emotional cycles—tax anxiety in Q1, travel chaosin summer, responsibility spikes in fall, and exhaustion in winter—to bypass cognitivedefenses. We identify seven primary emotional levers (Urgency, Guilt, Authority, Empathy,Familiarity, Scarcity, Responsibility) and map their deployment across twelve months. Thealmanac provides 40+ operational Guard Cards with consistent schema (Lever → Scenario →Cue), verification rituals for each threat category, and industry-specific attack patterns. Thiswork establishes a reproducible methodology for temporal threat intelligence that can beextended to future years.
