Abstract

The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is a sub-field of astrobiology which searches for technologically-capable life in the universe. Some “technosignature” searches have focused on traditional astrobiological targets of sun-like stars or exoplanets, but it is also important to cast a wide net to search for “life as we don’t know it” too. Breakthrough Listen’s “One of Everything” Exotica Catalog helps us define this wider net of targets. We present an observing campaign of the ~648 observable targets in the Catalog, which spans from solar system objects to large cosmological structures. Using the Allen Telescope Array (ATA) at the Hat Creek Radio Observatory, we will conduct novel searches of this catalog with its 28 6.1m dishes in 4 simultaneous bands of 672 MHz bandwidths. This exploratory project, focused on bands 1.000-1.672 GHz, 1.672-2.344 GHz, 4.200-4.872 GHz, and 8.000-8.672 GHZ, will search for evidence of technosignatures and set the stage for future science and SETI projects.
