The Digital Gosplan: Reclaiming Market Signals in the Age of Algorithmic Planning
Abstract
The modern gig economy has inadvertently resurrected the logic of centralized planned economies, using algorithms to perform high-dimensional linear programming that dictates labor prices. This "Algorithmic Command" model leads to systemic exploitation by stripping workers of price-setting agency. We propose a transition to a decentralized Spatio-Temporal Auction Framework. By restoring market-formed pricing and allowing for labor pooling, we can mitigate the "bone-deep" exhaustion of the workforce and create a more resilient, human-centric economic ecosystem.
