Computational Discovery of Ultra-Refractory
Abstract
Computational characterization of a novel high-entropy refractory alloy using DFT and ab initio molecular dynamics. The material demonstrates exceptional thermal stability up to 20,000 K (5.4× tungsten melting point), pressure resistance to 300 GPa, and Vickers hardness exceeding 4,000 HV. Potential applications include nuclear fusion reactors, advanced aerospace propulsion, and extreme environment protection systems."
