Role of Saat Nischay Programme in Economics and Social Development of Bihar
Abstract
The Saat Nischay (“Seven Resolves”) Programme is a comprehensive development initiative launchedby the Government of Bihar to address the state’s long-standing economic and social challenges. Introducedin 2015 and subsequently expanded through multiple phases, the programme represents a shift towardsintegrated and inclusive development planning. This paper examines the role of the Saat NischayProgramme—particularly Saat Nischay-3 (2025–2030)—in promoting economic growth, employmentgeneration, industrialisation, agricultural development, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare inBihar. Using secondary data and policy analysis, the study evaluates how the programme contributes toreducing unemployment, improving human capital, strengthening governance, and enhancing quality oflife. The findings suggest that Saat Nischay has played a significant role in reshaping Bihar’s developmenttrajectory by linking economic growth with social justice and institutional accountability, althoughchallenges related to implementation and regional disparities remain.
