Abstract

Acne Vulgaris Affects Up To 80 % Of Young Adults And While Conventional Treatments For Acne Are Often Successful, They Can Also Cause Irritation, Discomfort And Antibiotic Resistance. Therefore, Neem And Salicylic Acid Offer Safer Antibacterial And Anti-Inflammatory Properties Than Conventional Topical Therapies. Niosomes Deliver These Agents More Effectively Than Their Non-Encapsulated Counterparts By Enhancing The Skin Penetration Of Both Agents. This Study Examined Four Different Neem-Salicylic Acid Formulations Using The Ether Injection Method And Evaluated Each Formulation Based On Its Physicochemical Characteristics And Drug Release Profiles. Overall, F4 Demonstrated The Best Performance With Respect To All Evaluation Criteria Including Zeta Potential (-41.7 Mv) Entropy Efficiency (88.6%) Particle Size (Spherical Vesicles Of 180-220Nm), pH (5.5-6.5), And Release Kinetics (Drug Released >90% Within Eight Hours Following Higuchi Diffusion). The Optimal Niosomal Gel Provided Enhanced Stability, Improved Drug Loading And Sustained Release That Could Provide An Effective And Safer Alternative Topical Treatment For Acne.
