Dynamic Zero: Asymptotic Saturation and Interfacial Reactivation in a Hilltop Quintessence Cosmology
Abstract
I present a phenomenological cosmology in which the universe avoids eternal acceleration via a thawing Hilltop Quintessence mechanism, asymptotically approaching a quiescent Minkowski vac- uum (H → 0). We model Dark Energy using a Pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone Boson (PNGB) potential, calibrated to match local CPL constraints (w0 ≈ −0.95, wa ≈ −0.6). Numerical analysis confirms that for steep potentials (λ ≳ 3), the field avoids oscillatory trapping and enters a stiff-fluid Kination phase (w → 1), enforcing a saturation of the expansion without future singularities. We further demonstrate that backreaction instabilities are suppressed in the thick-wall limit (δ ∼ H−1 ), where the delocalization of gradient energy prevents Schwarzschild collapse. This framework addresses the global entropy paradox by replacing the singular Big Bang with a cycle of local saturation and interfacial ignition, consistent with the Hamiltonian constraint of General Relativity and Swampland conjectures
