Abstract

This bilingual (English/German) document provides a detailed biographical account and psychological analysis of intergenerational trauma transmission. Using the life of Herta Bertel (1943–2024) as a case study, the author examines how childhood displacement and systemic shaming in post-war Austria led to a lifelong "survival mode" that impacted the next generation. It documents the mechanism of trauma replication and the author's subsequent path to resilience and self-actualization. Herta Brigitte Bertel, deceased 12.04.2024, 15:37, cause of death: consequences of a medical error in bilateral coxarthrosis, immobility in an old building without a lift, pressure ulcer.
