Wind-Powered Inductive Charging For Electric Vehicles With IoT Monitoring
Abstract
Sustainable wind-powered inductive charging system for electric vehicles (EVs), integrated with real-time Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring. The proposed framework captures mechanical energy from wind via a rotational mechanism, generating alternating current (AC) which is subsequently rectified to direct current (DC). The converted power is transmitted wirelessly using inductive coupling between primary and secondary coils, with the receiving coil connected to a lithium-ion battery pack representing the EV’s energy storage unit. Real-time monitoring of key electrical parameters—including AC and DC characteristics, coil voltages, and battery state-of-charge—is conducted. All data is streamed to an IoT platform for continuous remote observation and graphical analysis. The system's performance is benchmarked against traditional wired charging methods to assess power transfer efficiency and energy losses. Experimental results confirm the feasibility of the proposed method, offering a promising step toward sustainable, contactless EV charging solutions improves its performance. History — The project is unique due to its exclusive use of wind energy as the power source for wireless inductive charging, which is less common compared to solar or wired systems. It features real-time monitoring through ESP32 and the Blynk IoT platform, allowing remote access to charging data. The contactless charging design improves safety, durability, and ease of use, especially in outdoor environments.
