Abstract

Superfluid helium-4 (He II) exhibits a rich phenomenological landscape, including quantization of circulation, anomalous dependence of critical velocity on geometry and temperature, power-law statistics of vortex tangle, and effective dissipation as T → 0. These effects are successfully described by Landau's two-fluid model, the vortex lament method, and self-consistent mutual friction models, yet they remain phenomenological and are not derived from a unified ontological framework. This work proposes a description of superfluid helium within the framework of the Theory of Minimal Discrete Dynamics (TMDD), where space, matter, and dynamics emerge as stable patterns in the evolution of a discrete θ-network of informational tensors. At the level of the full model, an ontological mechanism for the nucleation and stabilization of quantized vortices is formulated, while at the effective level, a TMDD "tail" is introduced as an ontological correction to classical hydrodynamics. It is shown that the calibrated "tail" reproduces key empirical dependencies vc(L, T), the power-law spectrum of vortex sizes, and the Kelvin wave cascade, whereas the full model explains the quantization of circulation and the stability of topological defects. Additionally, new falsifiable predictions of TMDD for He II are formulated, including chiral asymmetry in effective dissipation and small structural oscillations of vortex line density, alongside possible experimental protocols for their verification.
