Abstract

ABSTRACT Drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), are very small aircraft operated without the presence of a human pilot onboard. Technology has brought great transformation into various logistics sectors such as agricultural, healthcare, education, surveillance and disaster response. Logistics drones involve delivering packages or goods from point A to point B using aerial routes rather than conventional road networks. UAVs are used for faster, cost-effective, and efficient delivery, especially for "last-mile" transport, by bypassing traffic for direct routes and reducing carbon footprints. They help reduce operational costs by providing faster delivery anytime, anywhere. The drone market is expected to make waves in the operations of supply chains as more enterprises prioritize efficiency in each step of the supply chain process. Soon, drone-based deliveries will be a staple. This paper explores the various uses of logistics drones. Key Words: drones, unmanned aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), logistics, logistics drones, supply chain, transportation
