Design and Theoretical Analysis of a Graphene-Based Acoustoelectric Energy Harvesting System
Abstract
This work presents GRaCE, a graphene-based acoustoelectric energy harvesting system that converts ambient sound into electrical energy. The system uses a Helmholtz resonator to capture sound efficiently, directing it toward a liquid chamber containing salt solution and graphene, and piezoelectric elements convert the liquid passing over graphene and pressure fluctuations, respectively into electrical signals. The project was entirely conceptualized, designed, and executed by the author. GRaCE demonstrates potential applications in wearable electronics, environmental sensors, and other low-power devices, providing a compact and scalable solution for energy harvesting from ambient sound. This project was independently designed by the author, inspired by publicly available demonstrations of graphene–saline interactions; all modeling and implementation were original.”
