Abstract

Chronic discogenic low back pain frequently persists independentof structural degeneration severity, suggesting pain mechanisms dissociable fromtissue damage. While nerve growth factor (NGF) and pathological nerve ingrowthare implicated, the system-level organization of this nociceptive pathway remainsunclear.
