Abstract
AbstractPancasila democracy is a democratic system unique toIndonesia that is based on the values of Pancasila, especially the balance between freedom andresponsibility. However, in its actual implementation,Indonesian democracy after the reform still faces severalproblems, such as the dominance of political elites, pragmatic political practices, money politics, andmanipulation of public opinion through buzzer accounts indigital media. This study aims to examine the concept ofPancasila democracy, its development in Indonesianpolitical history, as well as the challenges and efforts tostrengthen Pancasila democracy today. This study uses aqualitative method with a literature review approach, analyzing various sources such as academic works, officialreports from institutions, and news from the media. Theresults of the study show that although the reformsucceeded in opening up freedom in politics, democraticpractices still seem routine and do not fully reflect thevalues of Pancasila. Democracy is often influenced by elitepower, power exchanges, and the spread ofmisinformation through digital media. In conclusion, tostrengthen Pancasila democracy, structural changes areneeded that prioritize moral values, social justice, andpolitical responsibility as the main foundations so thatdemocracy is not only free but also civilized and fair.
