Functional Division of Labor in Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma
Abstract
Intratumoral heterogeneity in follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) is traditionally interpreted as stochastic variation or clonal divergence. Through systems-level analysis of spatialorganization and functional specialization, I try to demonstrate that FTC exhibits purposeful stratification analogous to tissue organogenesis—a division of labor where distinct cellular populations perform specialized, interdependent functions essential for tumor survival.
