Boundary-induced phase locking and guided helical modes in SAR Doppler tomography of the Giza Plateau
Abstract
This revised preprint investigates the physical interpretability of phase-basedSAR Doppler tomographic products under conditions of structural non-invertibilityand boundary-limited observability. Using publicly released polarimetric andnon-polarimetric datasets from the Giza Plateau, the analysis focuses exclusivelyon boundary-supported phase and coherence invariants, deliberately avoidingvolumetric reconstruction. Relative to the previous version, this release consolidates the analysis throughexplicit cross-validation across independent datasets and includes the completereproducibility package (analysis code and processed results) used to generate allfigures and tables. The results reveal a globally coherent phase organization characterized by asingle dominant longitudinal pitch, sustained phase coherence, andsymmetry-selective phase locking, which are incompatible with interpretationsbased on independent subsurface structures. A minimal cylindrical guided-modemodel provides a consistent and parsimonious description of the observed phaseorganization. This manuscript is released as a pre-review preprint. No claims of uniquesubsurface reconstruction are made.
