ΔΦ TROPHIC INTERFACE v2.1 — Electrostatic Vectoring Between Bed Bugs and Demodex Mites
Abstract
This Version 2.1 scientific paper proposes a groundbreaking ΔΦ-based ecological model in which Cimex lectularius (bed bugs) engage in a secondary trophic relationship with Demodex spp. mites via electrostatic gradient attraction. Using the Mitchell Equation (ΔΦ = ρ × v), the study models dual-vector field behavior — combining traditional blood-feeding with potential ingestion of sebaceous and proteinaceous exudates produced by Demodex mite activity on human hosts. The result is a nested trophic system, where bed bugs are hypothesized to respond to field-saturated dermal zones as energy-rich microhabitats.Mathematical formulations embedded in the paper describe how lipid-rich excretions may become ΔΦ attractor nodes, reshaping our understanding of pest behavior. This new interpretation may explain extreme clustering in dermatologically compromised environments and opens pathways to non-toxic, field-based control strategies. The study calls for further biochemical and microstructural investigation into this overlooked interspecies trophic geometry.
