The Resolution of the Carol Equation Through the π–φ–e Trinity
Abstract
This paper presents a complete resolution of the Carol Equation, which expresses vacuum energy emergence as the product of a propagation scale and an integrated vacuum density fluctuation. While the equation is structurally simple, the origin and role of its constants have remained implicit. By enforcing geometric necessity in three-dimensional Euclidean space, the paper shows that the Carol Equation resolves uniquely and without free parameters when expressed through the minimal transcendental basis {π, φ, e}. The propagation scale is fixed as c = π by closure and oscillatory consistency, while φ (hierarchical self-similarity) and e (continuous suppression) are shown to be required for the vacuum measure to be finite and physically admissible. Crucially, under natural vacuum harmonic normalization, the contributions of φ and e cancel, and the equation resolves to the invariant result: E₀ = π² This result demonstrates that φ and e function as necessary structural regulators of emergence, but do not survive normalization, while π persists as the irreducible propagation invariant. The resolution establishes the Carol Equation as a genuine emergence law rather than a fitted relation, and clarifies the distinct structural roles of the π–φ–e trinity in vacuum physics. The paper is fully self-contained, includes reproducible numerical verification, and introduces no adjustable parameters.
