Abstract

The Zero Entropy Framework (ZEF): A Pre-Geometric Order-Parameter Approach to Emergent Spacetime, Matter, and the Dark Sector (v1.2) This record publishes ZEF v1.2, a conservative and test-facing standalone technical note. It does not require reading v1.1/v1.0 to be understood. ZEF is a pre-geometric emergence program in which familiar spacetime quantities arise as effective descriptors of bounded departures from an underlying uniform substrate (the “Zero Entropy Field”), summarized by the ZEF Deformation Index (ZDI) 0 ≤ φ < 1 with a saturation boundary associated operationally with the Planck regime. Core foundations (ZEF, stable across versions) Pre-geometric substrate: ZEF is not a field in spacetime; spacetime is an emergent bookkeeping regime used after deformation breaks uniformity. Bounded deformation index: departures from pristine ZEF are summarized by a dimensionless order parameter φ (ZDI), with 0 ≤ φ < 1. Saturation boundary: the Planck regime is treated as a breakdown boundary of spacetime parametrization (saturation), not a divergence of physical variables. Universal causal response: in the correspondence regime, deformation excitations propagate with a universal characteristic speed identified observationally with c. Defect-localized quantization: quantization is assigned to localized topological defects (“zefons”) and their composites (“qufons”); ħ governs defect reconfiguration rather than pristine ZEF. Dark-sector interpretation (effective): persistent deformation strain can appear as dark-matter-like gravitational sourcing; large-scale restoring response can appear as dark-energy-like acceleration (targets for later confrontation with data). What v1.2 adds (vs v1.1) Clarity upgrades: a compact “What this paper is / is not” box and a notation + regime table to reduce ambiguity. Bridge discipline: a strengthened correspondence packaging vs physical content separation, including an explicit regime of validity and clear disfavoring criteria / null tests. Defect sector made explicit: a minimal defect-sector bookkeeping action for Ψ = φ eiθ and a semiclassical statement of how ħ controls defect-transition amplitudes. One data-adjacent deliverable: an end-to-end correspondence-regime pipeline defining rotation-curve and weak-lensing proxies under a single deformation-to-sourcing map (pipeline: ρb → J → φ(r) → ρφ → {vc(r), κ(b)}), together with an explicit “what would disfavor this proxy route” criterion. Falsifiability summary: a compact Predictions & Null Tests subsection labeling required vs optional targets and aligning with the structured falsifiability table. Non-claims (important) This note is not a microscopic completion, not a derivation of the Standard Model spectrum, and not a precision cosmological fit. The “data-adjacent deliverable” is a pipeline definition and worked proxy construction; it is not presented as a calibrated observational fit.
