Gravity-Like Orbits from Wave Propagation Without Mass
Abstract
Gravity-Like Orbits from Wave Propagation Without Mass This dataset and manuscript present a standalone computational experiment demonstrating that gravitational-like orbital motion can emerge purely from wave propagation structure, without invoking mass, force laws, or spacetime curvature sourced by matter. Using a deterministic second-order lattice wave equation with a spatially varying scalar field χ(x,y), we show that localized wave packets follow curved, bound trajectories when propagating through structured χ-fields, while propagating in straight lines in flat controls. No mass term appears anywhere in the governing dynamics. Four numerical experiments are presented on a 512×512 lattice: Trajectory curvature increases by a factor of 14.9 in structured χ-fields relative to flat controls. Mass-independence holds to machine precision (
