Abstract

This study shows how magical creatures in English and Uzbek fairy tales reflect each nation’s culture and compares their writing styles. English tales use short sentences and move quickly, with clear and simple language. Uzbek tales use more descriptive, emotional, and traditional expressions that create a warm cultural feeling. The study also shows that magical creatures play different roles. In English tales, they appear suddenly and help the hero immediately. In Uzbek tales, magical helpers come only after the hero works hard or behaves kindly, showing that English tales focus on surprise, while Uzbek tales connect magic with good character. The settings also influence the style: English tales take place in forests or castles and feel adventurous, while Uzbek tales occur in deserts, mountains, or old villages and feel more traditional.
