Abstract

v1.0.0 (initial submission) This release contains the exact version of the source code used for the manuscript submitted to Scientific Data. Associated Manuscript Title: A 30-m daily soil temperature dataset for alpine grasslands in central Tibetan Plateau during 2001–2024 Authors: Haoze Zhang, Pengfei Ma, et al. Journal: Scientific Data (Submitted) Overview This workflow generates a 30-m daily near-surface soil temperature (ST) dataset for the Nyainqentanglha Mountains region (central Tibetan Plateau), which is dominated by alpine grasslands, during 2001–2024 using Google Earth Engine (GEE) and R. What's included 01_st_30m_daily_demo.js Reviewer-friendly demo script (default year: 2020) exporting quarterly multi-band outputs directly to Earth Engine Assets for rapid validation. 02_st_30m_daily_tile_export.js Full production script for 2001–2024. Exports quarterly multi-band ST images as four spatial tiles (2×2) to Google Drive to avoid large-file export constraints. 03_st_30m_daily_mosaic.R Post-processing script to mosaic the four tiles into unified quarterly GeoTIFFs (ST_ _ .tif) using terra. Output format Quarterly multi-band GeoTIFFs (ST_ _ .tif), one band per day (ST_YYYYMMDD) Stored as Int16 with scale factor 0.01 °C (i.e., values are °C × 100), NoData = -32768 How to use (recommended) Start with 01_st_30m_daily_demo.js to validate the workflow in your own Earth Engine Assets (minimal tasks). Use 02_st_30m_daily_tile_export.js for full production export to Google Drive. Run 03_st_30m_daily_mosaic.R locally to generate the final quarterly mosaics. Notes The demo script creates 4 tasks (Q1–Q4) for the default year (2020). Running the full production export will create 384 tasks (24 years × 4 quarters × 4 tiles). For testing, users are encouraged to reduce the year/quarter lists first.
