A BOUNDARY-LIMITED PHYSICAL FRAMEWORK FOR RUNAWAY FAILURE IN LOCALIZED CONFINED ENERGY SYSTEMS
Abstract
This paper establishes a physics-only framework for runaway failure in localized, confined energy systems by isolating the role of boundary-limited dissipation. It demonstrates, by elimination through logical necessity, that when internal energy escalation persistently exceeds the finite capacity and response time of boundary-mediated transport, accumulation is enforced and stable operation becomes physically impossible. The result is a necessary transition to runaway failure that is independent of system type, materials, or domain-specific details, relying solely on experimentally established mechanisms of energy exchange and physical constraint enforcement.
