Structural Analysis of Asset Classes: Equity Indices and Monetary Metals
Abstract
This paper applies the Stuart-Landau framework and axiom system analysis to compare thestructural dynamics of equity indices and monetary metals. We argue that equity indices arecoupled to axiom systems that exhibit β → 0 dynamics in their current configuration, whilemonetary metals possess axiom-system-independent value storage properties. The analysisyields three conclusions: (1) equity indices face structural instability as the current axiomsystem approaches transition; (2) monetary metals will appreciate relative to equity duringaxiom system transitions; (3) long-term preservation of value favors assets decoupled fromspecific axiom systems. These are not predictions based on market analysis but structuralconsequences of how different asset classes relate to the axiom systems in which they areembedded.
