Abstract

This work discusses the interpretational status of a mechanism of apparent cosmological acceleration previously proposed as an effective result of the operational reconstruction of a discrete, linear evolution without acceleration. It is shown that the appeal to a quantum-gravitational context does not extend the original model and does not introduce new physical assumptions, but follows logically from its basic premises. The discussion is purely interpretational and aims to clarify the ontological status of the discrete evolution parameter within an effective cosmological description.
