Abstract

Since the implementation of economic liberalization in 1991, globalization has emerged as a key factor influencing the transformation of India’s economy. This research article investigates the wide-ranging effects of globalization on the country’s economic system, with particular emphasis on the agricultural, industrial, and service sectors. The analysis is based on an evaluation of important economic measures, including economic growth rates, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, trade performance, and employment trends, to assess the overall impact of globalization. Beyond economic outcomes, the study also examines social and cultural changes brought about by globalization, such as shifts in consumption patterns, developments in the education sector, and evolving labor market conditions. Although globalization has facilitated greater access to international markets, technological progress, and participation in global production networks, it has also posed significant challenges. These include increasing income disparities, environmental degradation, and greater exposure to external economic shocks. The paper presents policy-oriented recommendations aimed at maximizing the advantages of globalization while reducing its negative consequences, thereby promoting long-term, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth. By combining historical analysis with empirical data and case-based evidence, the study provides a comprehensive understanding of India’s integration into the global economy and suggests strategic directions for the future in an increasingly globalized environment.
