THE GEOMETRY OF ICE: Deriving Snowflake Morphology via WTS Relaxation and the Octonionic Stiffness of the Hydrogen Bond
Abstract
We apply the Axiomatic Physical Homeostasis (APH) framework to the problem of ice crystal morpho-genesis. We challenge the standard diffusion-limited aggregation models by positing that the water moleculeH2O acts as a topological operator attempting to tile 3D space with a G2-derived geometry. We identifythe deviation of the H-O-H bond angle (104.5◦) from the ideal tetrahedral angle (109.5◦) as a non-zeroAssociator Hazard A(Z). We demonstrate that the transition from hexagonal prisms (plates) to stellardendrites is isomorphic to the vacuum phase transition from the Strong Buffer Regime (β → ∞) to theWeak Buffer Regime (β → 1). We derive the Nakaya-Schutza Phase Diagram, mapping temperatureand supersaturation to the Wolf-Toffoletto-Schutza (WTS) relaxation modes of the lattice, and prove thatdendritic branching is a homeostatic mechanism to maximize the flux of geometric information.
